Fertilizer Guide for Plants
Organic vs mineral, understanding NPK values and the ideal fertilization plan for each growth phase of your plants.
Legal Note (France): the domestic cultivation of cannabis (THC) is prohibited in France. This guide is purely informative and focuses on the general nutrition of plants, applicable to legal plants, herbs, and hemp where the law permits. This content does not encourage any illegal cultivation. Always check the current regulations before cultivating.
Organic vs Mineral
The two main categories of fertilizers have different strengths. Which one suits your way of cultivating?
Organic Fertilizer
Natural nutrient sources like compost, worm humus, bat guano, and fish meal. Promotes soil life and sustainably replenishes nutrients.
- + Better aromatic profiles
- + Sustainable cycle
- + Hard to overdose
- − Slower action
- − Less precise to dose
Mineral Fertilizer
Synthetic nutrient salts with immediately available NPK values. Fast action and exact dosing possible.
- + Immediate availability
- + Precise dosing
- + More economical
- − Easy to overdose
- − Can harm soil life
NPK by Growth Phase
Each phase has different nutritional needs. The right fertilization plan maximizes yield and quality.
Seedling Phase
Young plants need little fertilizer. Light and balanced supply every 7 to 10 days.
Vegetative Phase
Nitrogen promotes leaf growth and chlorophyll. Fertilize weekly, increase EC value.
Flowering Phase
Phosphorus and potassium promote flower formation and resin production. Reduce nitrogen.
Flushing
2 weeks before harvest, water only with neutral pH water. Improves taste and purity.
